Default Hillbilly Jim's FJ-40 Build

Well, here we go. I know this "playing with dolls" thing has been done before so hats off to those who did it first. I just couldn't resist.

Myself and my real good buddy Hillbilly Jim are going to build a FJ-40 out in the 'ol shed. Hopefully when all is said and done we will have a rig that will be trail worthy and competent enough to tackle just about any 4x4 road out there.

Jim likes his beer and there is nothing better than drinkin' and working on the rig.

The new beadlock rims finally came in and boy was Jim proud.

It took us quite awhile what with all those bolts but we finally got one wheel/tire mounted up. Those Moab tires sure are sticky so I think they will do great out on the rocks.

Jim welded up the chassis and the shackles so we could mount the leaf springs. In this photo I wasn't sure if he was passed out drunk or working.

Here you can get a better view of the chassis. Damn, he is proud!

Did I mention how much Jim likes to drink? We finished this bottle of Jack within the hour so the other three tires will have to be mounted another day.

To be continued.......

Yes they are. I think they look real slick, just haven't had chance to run them yet. I have heard talk of the tire beads coming lose but I cranked them down nice and snug so we shall see.

We are still waiting for a few parts to come in so we can complete the axles but in the meantime we finished getting the shocks done up right.

you should take a photo of him in a white room with a really big light behind him and camera on almost full brightness..then we can call him jesus!

I don`t think Jesus was that buff. if the was he would have body slammed King Saul and his Roman soldiers.
