| Another FJ45 ** FINISHED PICS PAGE 6 **
Since I have moved, I have no where really to work on projects. Trying to stay sober wasn't cutting it either. I decided to do something about it. I popped the top on a 1/8 size bottle of Aioshima's finest Land Cruiser and started my latest binge. This one will take awhile due to my restricted working space.:-( Here's what I have so far. Body hacked... and spliced. Top hacked... and spliced. Here it is mocked up. BTW, it will get filled, smoothed, sanded and painted. Of course, it will get the usual Chino treatment, Bruiser chassis, leafs in front, 'pede mount and trans, full protection by way of brake line bumpers. However, I might change things up a bit and make some rectangular tube sliders and instead of 4-link rear, leafs with a torque arm like I did on one of Halfass... I mean Halfcab's rigs. The bed will be different too. I will make one out of styrene sheet and see if I like it, otherwise, it will end up an aluminum one. Also, the bed will be a fleetsided style bed unlike my previous one. Bruiser axles of course for this but not sure if I should go 2.2 or 1.9's. I'll keep it here because I will probably leave 2.2's on it. Last edited by chino63; 09-10-2008 at 10:02 AM. |

| No sleep lost on my part! I cut up a $100 proline Land Cruiser body for my first FJ45, hacked up two $80+ Bruiser cabs and a $45 bed to make my 4-door Hilux, Turned a mint mountaineer into my first real rock crawler and have received pleanty of hate mail and sneers/remarks from hobby shop employees for destroying (in their eyes) an R/C icon. But I'm o.k. with it all. |

I was kind of wondering when I saw you win that bruiser frame on the bay(I was going to bid until I saw your name). I have both of the rear crossmembers if you need them. Sweet looking project, I will definately be watching this like all your builds.

WOW!!!! It's too bad you can't grind up the leftovers into a powder and sell it for somthing. I'm sure there is some junky on here, like Dirk that would snort that stuff. I figure you have about $60.00 in plastic leftovers :-) Cool build! |
