| AX10 Scaler... aka the Red Headded Step Child
Ok, guys, I just had to do something with this truck. I couldn't help myself. I love the axles durability, and the trans works great. But I really like scale s**t. Soooo, I got a template for the frame from a friend and got to work. Keep in mind I'm still playing with mocking stuff up, so bear with me. the poser shots suck and I apologize, but my batteries are dying in the camera.... I really enjoy the overall design of the Bruiser/ Mountaineer chassis, but everyone seems to think that s**t is made of GOLD, so I had to make a chassis from scratch. Just some 1/4" aluminum for the rails and some angle I got from the Depot. I've already mutilated two 3mm taps putting the beast together, so for now the name will be "Red Headded Step Child". You guys probably know the frustration of getting these rails right. Enough BS for now. I'll post more pics soon. PS, If you guys want to see something spacific, let me know. For now, I'm going to get a :chug:. |

Did some more work today.... Not much, but at least I drove it today! Some chassis shots for y'all... I got to get pics of the cage I'm working on, but I need more brake line. BTW Maverickmonk, I do like the idea of a red cage or frame. |

Wow, thats amazing!! I want to get that ax10 but i want to make it into a "scale" looking truck, does your truck have the same dimensions of the regular ax10? such as ride height, wheel base etc?

What do you guys use to make that roll cage and exo cage with? Where can i get it and how do you weld it? pretty sure not with a real welder cuz itll just literally blow it apart. i might even buy the ax10 and then make my own tuber |

The info you're looking for is posted all over the place. Short answer is, most use brake line. Some use solid rod.

tube work came from an idea i had and a little enginuity. i used a calibrated eyeball and some 3/16" brake line brazed together to make the cage.

also I need to post more pics and get this thing blown apart for paint and final details. I made an offroad jack and some other goodies for it recently. as far as the cage goes, I used a torch and brazing rod to make the welds. I've heard of someone using 5 minute epoxy, but I don't think it would hold up well.
