| Custom Poision Spyder "Bruiser" Build
Hello All, I just became a member on here, after hearing about the site from a few of my friends. After checking out many of the crawler pics on here, I'm glad I did. I just completed a Custom Poision Spyder "Bruiser" replica TLT-1 . I will try to post some pics. |

My computer wasn't cooperating with me yesterday as far as posting pics.. I hope you find the results worth the 1 day wait..!!!! In the beginning of the build I studied TONS of pictures of Poision Spyder Customs "Bruiser" chassis, and I thought It would be cool to come up with a super realistic 10th scale version. I am now currently in the process of building a scale custom interior with Mastercraft racing seats, Simpson 5 point harnesses, s hifters, gas/brake pedals, tach with shift light, etc. The truck now also has ( not pictured) a pair of RC4WD full aluminum axles with outer knuckles. This build took me roughly about 2 1/2 months from start to finish. The difference with my truck vs. many other crawlers i've seen, is i took the extra time and drilled, tapped and screwed EVERY aluminum bar pictured together. The reason being if for whatever reason I ever wanted to change something on the chassis down the road, I easily could, without having to cut and file welds. The whole upper tube chassis was made from 1/4" solid alum. rod. The "Main" lower chassis is a Montana Scale Designs "BB-51" that has been HEAVILY modded. Both TLT axles are locked as well as the Pede tranny. Its currently running a 45 turn Lathe motor. I also hand built the custom scale "Hi-Lift" jack mounted in the back. It looks so real, I've actually had people try to jack it up..!!! I also made a scale alum. WARN front diff skid plate, as well as rear driveshaft skid. I've been building Custom Crawlers for over 10 years now, and I always try to "out-build" the last..!!!! Last edited by chip cross; 11-12-2007 at 05:29 PM. |

Wow that looks great, so the entire tube chassis portion is all screwed together Thats pretty cool, I dont think I have ever seen that done before. What did you make the scale KC lights from? The grill guard covers on them look awesome. That high lift jack does look just like the real deal, nice job. Got anymore picture of your "hubs" or how you made them -Mike |

Yes, the WHOLE chassis was screwed together. I wanted to build one different than the rest I've done. I think by screwing it together looks alot better than seeing welds, and gives it a cleaner look. I have ALWAYS been detail oriented, and it usually shows in my trucks. I hand built the "Hi-Lift" friom scratch. the jack alone took about 6 hours to create, and paint. I will post more pics if people want to see more...

Oh yeah, the actual headlights, and foglights are from Tamiyas Jeep Wrangler kit ( 58141) I have about 10 of those kits, and wanted the lights for this build. All the lights (actually LED'S) on the truck work. I custom painted the outer covers, and added the KC letters. Nobody has noticed the polished dual exhaust tips yet..??? LOL..!!!

Thanks for the compliments guys..!! LOL, The car in the weeds is just another "obstacle" to run over..., I mean..to play on top of..! I transformed part of my backyard into a mini wheelin' area, complete with a 20 ft. hillclimb, 10 ft. mud pit, and a 10th scale version of Four Wheeler magazines Mini Rubicon rock garden !! I will post more pics soon....
