Default Silverado SS build up to match my 1:1

Well after having been into R/C for many years.... over 20 years and counting I have gotten into the scale side of the R/C industry. This site can be blammed for wanting to build a scaled 1/10 truck identical to my 1:1.

After lot's of searching reading I found out about the Intimidator SS body was about if not the only late model Cheverolet hard body avaliable. Although this build will be identical in almost every way possible in relation to my 1:1 Silverado it will be a newer body style that my 1:1. My fullsize is a 2001 model, should be close enough. Also planning to put a lift on the scaled truck to make it look like something I would want my 1:1 to look like eventually, possibly even a good looking paint job.

Enough with rambling on. The build officially starts today with my recieving of the Intimidator SS Dale Earnhardt truck from buy.com. Picked it up for $24.00, can't beat that price!

I second both of these. I may have found inspiration for my next build.

May even have to sell the boat to fund the cars.

I don't see a dune buggy, but I do see one bad ass sand rail! What shocks are you running in the rear of that thing? Have a separate thread for it?

Looking forward to this build!

Thanks for the compliments. The sandrail frame was built by Boyer. Truely a work of art.

Ever since getting into R/C years ago I have wanted a r/c sandrail.

The shocks on the rear are MSR8 savage shocks with the smaller ones for a t-maxx for that bypass look.

The SS truck I paid $32 shipped to my door from buy.com. Got the body stripped off the chassis last night, now just waiting on the TLT parts, chassis etc. to arrive.

I will get a seperate thread going for the sandrail with pictures/details since there seems to be alot of questions about it. I do have some very cool BIG projects that will be taking place very shortly for another rail!

Here is a couple pictures of my 1:1 truck.

and a picture of the 1:1 sandrail that I haven't touched for a while... :(

I think I'd be spending the money on the 1:1 rail.

The only reason i do R/C is because I can't afford the real thing.

Not much progress.... still awaiting more parts.

The tires in this picture are 2.2 moabs. I'm thinking they are not going to work and will have to go with 1.9 wheels/tires... the moabs just look to big, not scale at all.

Do you have a specific place or a link where I could get one of those bodies (QUESTION FOR STANG KILLA SS)?
