Default We lost a friend - Doug Hulen 1944-2009 - Miss you Buddy!

Guys, we lost a crawling buddy this weekend - http://obits.al.com/obituaries/birmi...&pid=130805161

I'm not good at this stuff at all - but I wanted to pass it along.

I know some of you met Doug a time or two. He was a really great guy, always more than willing to jump in and help with anything that anyone would ask of him. Usually offering to do something for you before you even asked. He was a heck of a good fabricator and could make pretty much anything and he truly seemed to enjoy helping you.

He wasn't a big "comp" guy, only going to one that I remember - but he loved to go bashing wherever we could find here around Trussville/Clay.

I know I'll miss you buddy - but I also know from some of the times we talked about more serious stuff, that I'll see you later and I'm sure you've got an awesome rig now that you are home.

What happened?

I only got to meet him once or twice, but knew from the first time I met him he was a great guy.

Our thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family.

Yeah Doug was one of kind, as rctoyguy said he was always eager to help make stuff for anyone (and was amazing with the end result) and I have met lots of people in the 15 years of RC Racing and now Rock Crawling and I have made more friends along the way than I count and made life long friends to boot. I must say that of all the people I have met in this great hobby none has had an influence on me like Doug did in the time I knew him; not just in the hobby but on a personal level. He made an impression on me I will never forget and I think it is safe to say he did that with anyone else he met too. I will truly miss him but I know one day I'll see him again and I am happy to know his salvation was taken care of and I know he is having a big ole' time now (I bet there are some awesome rocks up there!!!)

Doug, you'll be missed!!! Thanks for everything you did for me and the impression you left that I'll never forget!!

PS I want to apologize to you guys who met Doug and I forgot to let you know of his passing, please forgive me!!
