| Attention PARC!!!! Killer new location found!
I have been scouting for a place closer than Table Mesa since I live in north phoenix. This place is just a little ways past the new game and fish dept's hq on Carefree Hwy. Some one from the club has to come with me and check this place out. There are two killer spots within a couple minutes walk from where you park and I mean hundreds of different courses could be set up here. BIG exposed bedrock formations! Big caves to crawl inside. This is not a boulder field. BIG SWEET ROCK FORMATIONS! I have spent yesterday and today hitting two of the sections and even set up a course for practice in one of them. All kinds of really cool lines to crawl. Plenty of parking space and 2wd vehicles can make it vary close with no problem. Really I would put this place on the competition list. Its that good! Post a reply to this thread and lets set a date and time. I'll show you where it is. |

| O.K. Link to 30 pics works.
In the first pic you can see the guardrail on Carefree Hwy in the background. Also there is another huge section across the wash covering the whole hill top I have not checked out yet. The area is covered with sections of bedrock almost everywhere you look. The spot is about 4.5 miles past the AGFD HQ. The gate to get out here is not visible from the road. Its next to an underpass after the second (I think) bridge. Just passed the canal. Its on the south side of Carefree Hwy. I have been out here four times now and still have not been to all the rock sections I can see!:-P |

There are no signs any where. I've been out there many times with no probs. See a lot of quads and dirt bikes riding out here.

| Plan on next meeting.
PARC is looking for new locations to hold competitions at. Lets vote on it! Maybe I should pay my dues to?!?:? What do we call this new spot? Who's in charge of naming places? Maybe we need a director of place names lol. |

We can call it Lake Pleasant Dam or somesuch, but the big things are legal access and accessibility for cars and small trucks.

| It's Legal
I checked on GeoCommunicator, a government website I use for checking mining claims for gold prospecting. The area is just south of Lake Pleasent State park and it shows right of way access which means anyone can go out there. Also my truck is 2wd and as long as you park where I showed on googlemaps and dont drive any further you wont get stuck.
