My knee jerk reaction was to vote to split the club. But after thinking about it more I voted for two classes. IMHO splitting the club would kill whatever potential growth the pro class possesses. I seriously doubt that anyone would ever make the jump from the "fun" group to the "hardcore" group if they are physically separated. Back in NM there is a group of fun crawlers twice the size of the USRCCA sanctioned club. After a lot of invitations for them to join us at our comps we finally had a big group of them show up. They all lined up of their first course and after a few of them could not clear gate 1 they ALL PACKED UP AND LEFT out of frustration. We never saw one of them again. The two groups were just on two completely different pages. So, like Kolby said it depends on what THE GOAL of the club is. If we want to grow and promote R/C crawling at the higher levels then we need to have an avenue for the new guy to progress his skills. If we want to hang out with our same 10-15 buddies and rarely see any new blood in the talent pool then I think that we should split the club.

Why would you split the club? Parc as a club should be a group of people who want to experience national style competitions. Otherwise get together with your buddies and have at it. People who are serious about comping are already going to national events, and some are doing very well at national events. Holding everyone back to satisfy a few people whose bitchass-ness overwhelms everyone will get everyone nowhere quickly. When you cannot get enough people to judge 6 (2.2 and 1.9, the super guys are usually on their own anyway) courses, what makes you think you could get enough to judge 9-12 ( 2.2, 2.2 toddler, 1.9, and super).

I think AZ needs one club focused on Comp crawling. There are just not enough people to keep 2 or 3 clubs alive. The USRCCA rules give a minimum (15) number of people at each comp to even be sanctioned. With Parc split I am not sure there would be enough to qualify. Tucson is not recognized, and I am not sure Prescott has enough people to keep them going either. 1 unified club with a goal of creating the best drivers has the best chance to succeed. AZ has several National Champion caliber drivers. Lets make more.
