Default Aussie TLT's

Fozzy Down Under and I took our TLT SW2 crawlers out for their first proper crawl today.

The urban crawling spot we discovered is situated on Como Beach, on the Swan River. For those who dont know where that is, its in Perth, Western Australia.

Todays major Casualty was Fozzy's diff housing...the link mounts tore straight out near the beginning of the crawl, but he fixed it with some CA glue and cable ties ;)

I also tore a ball cup off my steering lock out, right near the end of the crawl

Once it was all sorted, we got into some real crawling!!

They held up real well....first time out, things will always go wrong of course, but not too much did go wrong!

Cheers guys

There are 4 of these crawlings spots along that stretch of freeway (or highway as you guys call it), spaced about every 500m under each pedestrian footbridge, in between the river and the freeway (which you can just see on the right in the first photo).

Nice place with not too many people, and the rocks vary in size too for different skill levels.

Thanks for all the comments guys. All I can say was it was great fun having a crawl in a spot with lots of different size rocks. And holes to get stuck in.. I am a bit dissapointed in the rear link mount tearing out. Only thing I can think of is the screws I used were to big?

Yeah your not wrong about the holes to get stuck in! My tyres are way way too soft with no foams in them, and they get very easily jammed in rock holes.

I think its about time I got some billet beadlocks and some moabs with foams!

Drill the tabs out on your housing and add a couple self tapping plastic screws. That'll fix the problem completely.

Like so...

Thanks for the tip Brad!

I need to do that to mine also, the link mounts lift up a bit when the suspension is under load..

Brad, You are the man with all the answers... I had thought of doing this so im glad someone else already has. Not to find some screws small enough. Crawler Downunder, I got my ally beadlocks from RC4WD and Balistics rock rings are from Unimogger. Check the vendors section out. Scott

Cheers fozzy,

that was my next step, have orded and recived some TLT axle wideners from the crawlerstore ,
they are so so good, recived them airmail and only took 2and a half weeks,
They will never be coming off, stopped a lot of rollovers.
