Looks great. Tech question #1: What color is that? And off to the real tech questions of my post. Where it the 10th cell? I am only counting 9 (but I may be not counting right through the shrink wrap). And do you have any further info on your dig setup/lockout? Does the rear lockout and the axle disconnect work separately/independent of each other? |

4 cells are on each side of the axle and the last 2 are behind the front servo. The Dig was made from parts I had laying around. The lockout and and disconnect work together at the same time. Here is a couple more pics of the Dig. Last edited by yotachump; 02-03-2008 at 10:57 PM. | |

Dig setup looks prety cool and well thought out. How smooth is the motion of this setup? Can you post a video of it working? |

Cool, thanks. I was thinking about your setup there and I was thinking if the independent "action" of freewheel and lock of the back tires be a benefit or a hindrance. Similar to a 1:1 rig with a selectable transfer case where you would sometimes need or want an axle to be free. Just thinking out loud is all. Looks awesome though. I really like the fact that the servo is mounted in the "stock" location and works through and around everything. |

the one free axal idea is great. I started sketching on some legal pads for a way to lock the wheel(S) as you have but have only one servo do both at the same time. The only hinderence would be that the locking pin would rest pretty close to the wheel until the switch is flipped, but if you run the same rod it would only lock one wheel at a time. . . geez. . . i need to think more. But what a great IDEA! kudos, kudos, kudos. Just curios, did you weight your wheels, and if so what did you use in each? I am just curios, b/c with 10 cells it is a little more weight then then a 7 cell i am building. I am obviously new to this, but am becoming hooked, like crazy. Finaly some part of the RC world that is left to a little home engineering! very nice work on the Dig. |
