Default ax10 tranny w/ 19t or 27t motor ?

going to be building a rock racer. do you guys think a 19t or 27t motor would be too much for that tranny ? i know that the higher the T the more torque u have the the lower the T u have more rpm. i was the thinking a 35t motor, but still unsure.. what would u choose ?. and yes i know the homleshobbie puller motors..need something on the cheap side as its a low budget build..

thanks jay

Oze30, Desolas,
With a lower turn motor, did you still stay with the 14T-p and 87T-s gearing, or other?
So how much trade off did you get, ie torque for some speed?
What size tires are you running(dia)?

thx

Were you running it stock or with the slipper clutch Axial is now offering? I'm shocked it was fine without a slipper.

I was just answering if I thought the tranny could handle the 19/27t.. I ran the 7x1 for entertainment only...unsure where I was geared, 24-26 maybe. 3s lipo and it was high speed run time.

I ran without slipper, not an issue...just roll into the throttle..ran about 6 packs through it and the transmission has been fine since.

Mine was stock all the way. Can pull wheelies when you go back then forwards, almost flips. Can do the monster truck wheelie jump when you go off an object. No slipper.. didn't know they had one. What does it do?

arent lathe motors all about torque? The axle snapper I have *apparently 55 turn( is slow as hell. Not good for rock racing.

Heres a picture of a crawler that is running a Holmes Hobbies Cobalt Puller 7T on an AX-10 tranny. It has INSANE wheel speed!!!

You can see the Ax-10 tranny at the very bottom to the left.
