I run an 8.4V pack saddled but not on an axial scorpion. The cells I use are IB1400's. There is 3 cells one side and 4 on the other attached by a peice of wire. I believe you can buy them already built from a vendor on here but not sure which one. Hope this helps |

many vendors sell them. i highly reccomend cheapbatterypacks.com as well as TCS as they have been the best to me. im running 8 cell split packs using 2/3a elite cells (1500mah). im running them on a TLT axle but my dad runs the 7 cell version of the same battery on his axial.

I use a 7-cell from cheapbatterypacks.com. elite 1500mah 2/3A cells Depending on what esc you're running will limit your options. http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/tst...sp?sid=1004901 |

I use two different setups, the 8 cell Elite 1500 split pack from TCS, and Intellect 1400's total of 12 cells, 8 on the front axle, four on the rear axle. I use the 12 cells when I want some extra wheel speed, usually 8 cells is good though.

| Go with the 8 cell if your charger and ESC can handle it, even if your charger can't handle 8 cells you can cut the wire which connects the two 4 cell packs, install a male and female spade connector and charge the two 4 cell packs separately, just FYI. I get good run times with my 8 cell Elite running a BM9 brushless outrunner and Quark Pro 33, my rig is light though, under 6 lbs currently. Not sure exact run time, but I can easily run several courses, and then some.

run times will vary greatly with motor, weight, esc, and how hard you are on the gas. i probibly get 30 min+ with a 55t lathe, 14t pinion, 87t spur, and a telkin rebel 2 esc. im usually pretty light on the gas but every now and then wheelspeed is needed.

I'd run at least 7 cells, just for the added punch you get from the extra 1.2 volts. and if you have gone BL, well, you get more torque and more RPM at the motor shaft. of course, a lipoly saddle pack would accomplish the same goal, and give probably longer runtimes for the same or less weight

That is what I figured on the run times. I have never built a 2.2 with driveshafts so I don't know all about the gears and everything. On a clodbuster you don't need all that. Thanks again for the help.

Do the split battery packs provide enough extra performance to sacrifice the runtime (i use intellect 3600 sub c pack in stock configuration on vehicle)?

The extra weight on the front is very nice. I run 8 or 10 cell packs on my crawlers.
