Go to McMaster and buy them in bulk. You'll need them eventually.

yep. stainless screws strip, bend and gaul. they would probably be ok for a crawler but i changed my savage over to stainless and then proceded to bend them like crazy. the heads seem to lose form alot easier too. | |

Are you sure you guys don't mean Aluminum screws? Like the colored ones? I've used Stainless in all my cars and never had a problem and I have a Stampede with all stainless hardware that gets abused bad!

You guys must just be dorks. SS has plenty of tensile strength My savage has been through hell and back. Its my sole basher. I used to get mad at it when it broke and I would bash even harder till it wouldn't move. I've gone 30-0 into various objects plenty of times. Only time i messed a screw is when I didn't hit it dead strait on w/ the allen wrench or torqued too much. I'm sure 10 in-lbs is plenty to hold her in.

I'd have to agree, they must be just plated Stainless screws. I've never had an issue with stainless hardware.

a picture is worth a thousand words. stainless is too soft. even with hex heds, they still strip out. I had the same kit on my savage and I have had problems with the heads stripping on screws that are not "set and forget". I heard fastnal had the M3 screws as well. you can buy a bulk pack of 20mm and cut them to size. I have so many spares from replacing parts on my AX10 that I don't know what to do with them all. For upgrade, I like the button head personally, less to catch on...
