Storm, I have a hard time letting go of any of my rigs. As my mom would say, "I'm emotionally and financially attached." I guess you could say I'm just adding to my collection.:-P

great build, can't wait to see what you can do with it when you have more time behind the wheel.

and again loving the Old VS logo that was handpainted on there.

Thanks JJ. And thanks again for the chassis.
Yeah, Farakai did a great job with the paint.

Love this build. Got a few questions about your set up for the midwest challenge. Do you know what the spring rate is for the springs you were running? I checked HPI's site but they only list their springs by the number of coils and not the spring rate. Also what weight oil was in the shocks?

Thanks man. I don't know what the spring rate is. They were just the ones that came with the shocks. I was happy with their tension, so I didn't feel a need to change them. For the oil, I ran 30wt in the rears and 15wt in the fronts. Hope this helps.

Time for an update. I got my VF Dig in the mail today. We got a gtg this weekend, so I wasted no time in tossing it in. Freetime ordered one as well. You'll see him in the backround installing his. He got his installed first, but I got mine running first.

Here's what all came with it.

The housing:

Step one: clean up drool.

Step two: remove tranny assembly from rig

Step 3: disassemble tranny

Next, take the main gear out, and remove the outputs from the gear.

You no longer need these:

This will comprise your main gear now:

Assemble just the original.

Toss the main gear back into the case and bolt 'er up. Just make sure you face it the right way.

Next, we install the drive cog onto the output shaft. Make sure you push it on fully.

Then you install the fork and outdrive.

Bolt the housing onto the tranny now.

Home stretch now.
Servo and linkage. The kit included the parts needed for the linkage.

Slapped the motor back in, and bolted it back up to the chassis. When I offset the tranny on the skid, it left just enough space for this dig. (sigh of relief)

Overall I'm very please with how easily it went together. Following the step by step guide on VF's website made it real simple. I did get to test it for a few minutes before the battery died. But I still have to dial it in more. Oh well, I'll be able to tune it more this weekend at our gtg.
