Cool Another Build Already?...And In The Axial Section?

Time for something new in the crawler garage so I did some more chassis designing, and came up with my next build. Just as I did with the Widow when it was first designed and built, this is going to be the prototype chassis. If it does well, I'll go ahead and have myself one made in aluminum later.

I'm calling it the Rekluse, and it'll have:

Dual Triangulated Links
Axial Axles
Axial Trans
Erickson White Heavies
Claws or Flatirons ??
HH 7T Puller
MM
CC BEC
Full Droop Suspension

And of course....it's parts are mostly black acetal

Not really anything too special....but going to stray to the "suspenseful" side of things, and keep everyone in a bit of wonder.

I thought that was "no tech, color me ChitChat"

Tonight I'll be adding more pics and some build tech that has gotten it to where it is now.

Alright, here's what I have so far. Pardon the lopsided look...there are no upper links because I don't have any link plates yet, and I have yet to make the steering linkages.

Still undecided whether I will go sprung or droop on this one...I am still experimenting with different shock & spring combos to get the ride height and function.

...BTW FWIW yours is the battery tray that i reckon the SlingShot SHOULD have gone with...LMK if you ever want to make me one

Awesome wheels. I'm ordering my third set in a week or so.

As confirmed already, yes those are the new Erickson Heavies in white, but the outer rings are a design I came up with and had 62PYRO make up for me for my set of MSD 'locks....and it just so happens that the ring pattern of both wheels is the same.

The more I look at it, it does sit pretty high. I am now so used to running full droop and belly draggin'...maybe that's all it is I'll have to do some more suspension experimentation.

What happened to your build Offroader? Hadn't seen the finished truck or any videos.

It's still here Still experimenting with the shocks and link geometry. This is the prototype, so there are a couple bugs to iron out :-P

I still have yet to get my hands on some upper link plates for the Ax axles. I wanted to get the VF one's. I've bumped their thread in the vendors section and also sent them an email in regards to getting some, but I am under the impression that they are still catching up on all the DIG madness...so, I may have to just go another route. I've also tried to get the one's from TCS, but for some reason my computers security settings have just decided to change themselves recently, and I can't checkout on there website due to some error on my end :-(..........STRIKE 2 I might be better off just picking up a set of stock plates...see how they work for me, and then if need be fab up my own (out of acetal of course ).

I have had it driving under it's own power using WK axles for the time being, just to get the quirks worked out.

Should be getting the Panthers from RPP here this week...and they'll be going on this build.

It is moving along...all be it slow, but moving

Well here's my attempt at the Widow LP. It's still in the development
stages. Thanks for the great plans Offroader5 and helpful information.
