Default VonDutch build

just received my self designed chassis and started to build it for testing.
it is made out of 2mm aluminum and not heavy
it's a nice/tight fit, but hey who cares.
i'm not shure how to set up this chassis, droop, semi droop or normal springs, but thats what's testing for.

Looks terrible but i allready told ya that didn't i

Looks great douwe,
i would say semi droop with inner and outer springs so it will sit a bit higher without sacrificing a whole lot of low COG

Looks real sleek mate!

Looks Great!

Is 2mm thick enough for strength? Interested in how you setup the suspension, well done

looks like it would fold in half after one good tumble. Hope it holds up for you and performs great!

Yeah...what makes this a "Von Dutch" build...I don't see the chic ? Is your body going to have Von Dutch graphics...or is that just the name you chose for the build just for kicks

On the chassis....looks very clean BUT it does seem really thin. Not only in the material thickness, but also some of those horizontals, especially with only that many cross braces.

It looks like you spur gear is rubbing on the side! Is it?

it stronger than i thougt. i can't bend it twist it or anything

the body will get some vondutch graphics, but the second reason i chose this name is because i'm dutch

@rollinover it's not rubbing ;) i have about 1mm clearence

there is much more coming ;) i'm still waiting on my body. but this is holland. everything i buy in the usa will stay in customs for about a week and than i have to pay more taxes etc.

i will use or a losi buggy body or a baja bug. (here in holland are no rules about bodies ore something else, there are maybe 3 or 4 people who like crawling)

Is that a polycarbonate or acrylic bottom plate? Might be an issue, impact is one thing that could cause it to shatter but I'd be more worried about the fact that both are very soft plastics, much softer than delrin, and will end up galling pretty easily on rocks. Might hang up a lot, I'd have a backup plan brewing if I were you.

Looks good, but I agree with the post above. If you can't get a delrin skid, fab one up from some cutting board. It's cheap, and better resistant (PE) to impact than acrylic.
