I bought the kit just for the fun of building it. Like said, all you need are a few hex wrences and a philips screwdriver, really . I might pick up a RTR later on down the road though as well and put a Rubicon body on it...

I was about to buy the kit tomorrow fr £199 and put the stage 2 and losi rock claws on it. However, I've just seen a local shop put a price tag of £199 on the ARTR? How can AXIAL sell the ARTR the same price as the kit? 1) It takes time to build the ARTR 2) MOABS at better than lizards 3) Memory foam you don't have to cut. 4) HD axle lockers 5) Pre-painted and decaled body Is there something I'm missing here? Are AXIAL going to stop making the KIT as the ARTR seems far superior on paper and much better value for money. Or as someone has already stated; is the kit coming with these extra parts now too? Or, are AXIAL going to drop the price of the KIT (a lot!!!!) May have to give AXIAL a call tonight to find out. Don't want to spend £199 on something that needs another £80 to bring it to the same standard as the ARTR. Can anyone state the advantages of gettign the kit rather than the ARTR, apart from having the joy of building a kit? I'm a little confused and don't want to buy an AX10 tomorrow now. I vote for the KIT.....RTR are mostly for those who just want to try out the hobby and dont really have plans to upgrade. As deezul mentioned, It will save you money in the end when you do upgrade. Heres a pichture of my ax10 nothing special, just the normal allum. upgrade's like knuckles, C-hubs,rims and bent links. Hermit Last edited by Da Hermit; 06-12-2008 at 10:09 AM. |

If I were buying one now I would without a doubt get the ARTR.

the artr uses a straight rear axle (no knuckles etc for rear steering). The fact they use some hop up parts is good for us and these parts have a similar cost to the stock parts. I bought the kit and enjoyed building it. I built it performing a few upgrade tricks found here. I already took it apart to make some more modifications...... The best thing to do is to get one and start driving it and see how your driving style makes it perform. Then you start tweaking the vehicle and your driving style.... |
