| 1 set of axles and 2 delrin chassis.......
Decided to go to delrin and ordered up 2 new chassis. Look what showed up today.... I had just purchased and built the axels. Trying to decided which to build. I have a GC1 with TLT axles under it, so I had to build the GC2 with Axials to compare. First off, here are some comparison pics of the GC2 and Slingshot SE chassis. The Slingshot dwarfs the GC2....I was expecting the Slingshot to be a little smaller. Top view. Notice how much wider the Slingshot is. Also notice how the chassis plates are at least twice, maybe three times, as thick as the GC2. The GC2 is considerably lighter. The GC2 is also a lot shorter in length. I swear the Slingshot is about 1/8th scale. The Slingshot is definately stout......I think you could run with no braces and not have to worry about breaking it. Again the Slingshot just dwarfs the GC2. I may build the Slingshot with my Poulson axles. I would love to try the chassis and see how I like it. |

IMO the GC2 plates are way to thin. Seems like a big tumble would snap them right at the upper link mounts.

Sorry Diesel, I just gave the BlackJack to a friend in Wisconsin on Saturday. What are the dimensions? I never did measure mine. I have no worries about the strength of the GC2. With the chassis braces installed, I believe it will be plenty strong. Time will tell I guess. Interestingly enough, my GC2 and Axial axles with the same electronics, weighs 1/2 and ounce more than my GC1 with TLT axles. I weighed the GC1 before I tore it apart for the shocks and all. My current rig weighs 5 lbs 13 ounces RTR. Last edited by wrightcs77; 06-03-2008 at 05:29 AM. |

Great pics, makes me glad I went with the GC2. I think it's the perfect combination of light weight and adjustability.Do you have any pics of your GC2 put together yet?

yep, build thread is "Maytag Man GC2." I just have to paint a new Maytag themed body. I hope to get the GC2 out on the rocks in Taylors Falls today. |
