Default 540 size outrunner on AX10? pls advice

http://cgi.ebay.com/High-torque-Brus...QQcmdZViewItem

hi, everyone, i found this 540 size outrunner motor on ebay, no need any mod to use on AX10, and i have few questions, pls give some suggest for me.
i use mamba max esc on my ax10.

1. can i use 2 cells lipo ? or better use 3 cells ?
2. is this motor good enough for ax10, anyone use it ?
3. should i get the 280 outrunner rather then 540 ? 280 motor got enough power ?
4. is this motor a good choice ?

thanks for advice

not sure about those. it did say it would work with a 2-5 cell lipo. i would look at the holmes hobbies crawlmaster sport brushless motor. i'm running one of them and i'm very happy with it. it has loads of torque and plenty of power to spin the wheels if need be...

thanks for advice, i had a bad experiences on small outrunner motor, i got a 1050kv 280size outrunner few weeks ago(the size is exactly same as crawlmaster sport), the motor have power, but very very bad torque, so that why i am thinking for the bigger size motor.

It would work. The CM sport is not a 280 sized motor however, it is the same size as the ebay motor you have linked to- just a tad shorter.

For the price, I'd go with the HH Revolver Black. I've got it in my AX-10 and it's very smooth and has more torque than I know what to do with. It's coupled to a Sidewinder.

I would & have gone with the Crawlmaster sport, great motor after a little tunning with the gearing & you can get support from John Rob Holmes.

I have a 650w 950kv outrunner in mine, I would say that it is probably 3/4 the size of a 540. I have had no problems at all with it. I have tried a 280 size brushless and the big one sh%^# all over it. Masses of torque at low revs. I run it with a Quark33 Procar.

Only thing I am doing is getting a slipper clutch for it so as I don't destroy the tranny.
