leave it an open top. that would be sweet. you could make it T-top if you are worried of crushing it.

I always find it odd that people spend so much time planning a tube chassis build, but forget to design suspension mounts. The looks of a tube chassis come in a distant second to the performance and driveabilty. One thing I always tell people: it is easy to build a tube chassis around a great suspension, but almost impossible to build a great suspension around a tube chassis.

That being said, looks like a good start. Solid work.

It will be using side panels since I dont have the Rubicon shell here... the LHS is out of stock.

The suspension mount will be determined later, once the front hood is finished. This is my second attempt is builing a tuber. Any suggestion on the suspension mounts???

You could get really involved in trying to figure out a 4 link suspension, that works in all types of terrain. Their is 4 link calculators to help, but you would need measurements. Set some axles under it and start thinking, taking measurements. You do have to build the chassis around the suspension.

You can see some of the mounting points on a bruiser chassis, it would take some work, but you could get it figured out.

I think mr pink is totally correct, I am by no means a pro at building chassis, but when I do build one it built around the suspension. Shock and link mounting points (unless you build in a ton of adjustments) are the most important part. Your chassis looks great so far, but I try to keep the tubing round at the bends. By letting the tube flatten out on sharp bends it won't be as strong as one that remains round. You probably won't have any probs with you tube work, as you have plenty of bracing, I just like the tube round at the bends. Keep up the good work.

yepp.. keeping the bend round is definitely maintain the strength of the tube. However, in my case, the bent has a lil bit of kink as I am using home made bender and it is bent at tight radius... due to lack of space in my room, I couldn't afford to have sand or rice in the tubing when doing the bending.

I actually applied heat to the metal before bending it.

I agree with what mr pink.. i tried the suspension calculator and still figuring out how to use it.. LOL... anyway, still lot's of work needed to finish this tuber... my GF is already making noise when I disappear into my workshop.. LOL
