Default Double wave Slipper Clutch

Has anyone used this Double wave Slipper clutch? How does it compare to the one provided from axial? Here is what I am looking at
http://www.liquidrc.com/index.php?ma...ducts_id=35824

I tried to do a search but no luck yet.

I don't see how reducing the surface area of the slipper friction pad will improve anything.

Evidently the slipper increases tire traction too!

I was being facetious, it lists that on the liquid RC site as a benefit. Maybe on a race vehicle where the dirt is loose, but not on a crawler. Tire traction is influenced my the tire compound and surface, not any other part.

Is one design much better than the other? Looks like on the AX version the clutch housing bolts directly to the spur gear where in this version the gear itself spins between the two plates.
