| BYRD's GC 2
It's time to upgrade the comp rig for the rest of the year and NAT'S. After running the SW3, TLT based, for the last year, I thought it was time to put it into semi retirement. It's done me good and it's running great, but when AD came out with the GC2, I had to jump on board. Specs: Delrin GC2 Axial Axles Bonus Line lockers RC4WD rear Straight axles MIP front CVD's RCP Knuckles RCP Straight Axles Adapters RCP Axle C's Axial HD Gears MIP Front Drive Pede Read Shaft Vanquish Beadlocks Losi Rock Claws & Proline Hammers w/ Erickson Beads Kreepy Red Foams (Front) Rear Foams (can't remember) X-Treme RC High Clearance Stainless Steel Lower Links TRX Upper Links Losi Rock Shocks Rocksmith Ti Steering Hitec 5955 Steering Servo Hitec 5645 Dig Servo 35T Warrior Motor 12t Pinion, for now until the 10 and 11 show up AX Trans w/ VF Dig Castle Sidewinder Castle BEC 3c Lipo DX3R HPI Bug Body Just got done running the GC2 and all I can say is this is the chassis. Did things only my SW3 could dream of and it ran great. Very stable and just glided up and over the rocks. With no tweaks to speak of, it runs great. Thanks AD for the time spent on the chassis and testing you put into it, and also thanks for the help on the setup with the pics. Here are the pic's with the ol' SW3. Later, BYRD. |

Looks like it is going to be a battle of GC chassis's this weekend. Nice servo mount. What did you use to make it? I also like your ESC roll cage.

Sooo Sweet! The skid and the link mounts come with the chassis right? How about the chassis supports? I have been looking at getting one of these. Does that rear srvo mount attach to the link mount? That's slick. Nice build. |

The servo mount is just an old clod servo mount from the RCGUY steering kit, and with some supports that fit just right. Quote:
The rear servo mount is attached to the chassis. Thanks.

| I meant this mount. I have a homer dig and the servo mounts back there. Just trying to figure out if it would work. |

Actually, the lipo sits on a bent plate, that is mounted on the link mount and rest approx. 5 mm from the drive shaft. Just like Bonus Lines GC1 and all others that followed.

With parallel front upper links, it is difficult, if not impossible, to run the servo offset and not in center.

Great looking rig. May I ask how much ground clearance you have? I built a similar rig but for some reason I think my GC is much lower than most. Thanks. |
