Default Leftover parts?? Rear steer!!

I was staring at my AX-10 and a pile of leftover parts from the build and the stage 2 upgrade today, and I thought to myself "self, what can I do with these parts?". The answer came to me.....REAR STEER! So I got my spare servo and mounted it to see what I needed to make the parts work.

Then I started looking at the parts I had available. 4 55mm links, stock rod ends. I figured one 55mm link for the drag link and 2 55mm links together for the tie-rod. Plus all the junk needed to assemble.
3-55mm links (stock uppers)
4-rod ends (kit leftovers)
4-traxxas balls (from my revo)
3-3mm locknuts
1-3mm standard nut
3-3mm flat washers
1-3X25mm cap screw
2-3X15mm cap screws
4-3X15mm cap screws (for cutting)
1-3X20mm cap screw (for cutting)

Now the first thing I did was make the screw connectors for the rod ends. I have lots of screws in my parts bin and got together 4-3X15mm and 1-3X20mm cap screws out and proceeded to cut the heads off. I then used the standard 3mm nut to clean the cut end of the threads.

The I put the traxxas balls in the rod ends......

Then I assembled the links like so...
Tie-rod:

(note the 3 flat washers inbetween the links. this was to make the length of the 2 links 111-112mm)

Drag link:

This is how it looks laid out before installing it...

Then I installed it on the rear axle....

This was surprisingly easy to do and very cheap (as long as you have an extra servo). Any questions, comments??

You are right, I had a brain fart, lol. The length of the rear tie-rod is actually 112mm. The longer length gives me a slight toe in. I also have my rear axle tilted upwards so the rear shaft will clear rocks but the angle isnt terrible and after all its only rear steer. I control it with the 3p on my DX3R. Thanks for the heads up on my little error there.

I fixed the error BTW.

I put rws on my ax10 with basically leftover parts. If you want more steering on the back, bent rod ends and a straight tie rod (no bump in the middle) will let you turn more withour the tie rod hitting on the differential. But that can come later. Looking good
