Default Torque Twist is Killing ME!!!!

What are you guys doing to make this go away? When crawling it seems to throw me off the rocks.

Get rid of the 3 link suspension and go to a double triangulated 4 link. Get the parts from The Crawler Store. Offsetting the short link height with the drivers side higher in the rear (over the plate) and the passenger side low (under the plate) helps I beleive the reverse would be helpful in the front but I have yet to test this theory.

You could also try changing either your left rear spring to a stiffer spring or swap out your shock oil in that shock to a heavier weight. I opted for the heavier weight oil and it helped a lot.

I went with 60w oil and changed the rear to a 4 link set up and the torque twist is no longer an issue.

I am not a proponent of band aid fixes like changing the left rear spring, it has other residual affects that may not be desired.

I did find the 4-link trick with drive side upper link higher at the axle helped but it also changed the articulation 'feel' in that direction.

The most noticeable fix I had was to turn the transmission around and reverse rotate the motor, then the rotational torque from the motor starts fighting the weight of the motor rather than working with it as it does in stock configuration. I was able to put my 4 links even and hardly noticed the twist with a 45t motor an 90/12 gearing.

I fixed it with stiffer rear springs with one spacer on 1 side. I also did the boomerang 4 link mount.

Do you have any pics of this set up?

I dont think i want to fix it with stiff springs, wont that take away some of the articulation.

I just made a 4 link plate, flipped the tranny & had the same results, much better set-up.

I did all of the above and liked it, but found even more improvement when I narrowed my chassis and triangulated my lower links. I was really suprised at how much that helped. You can make a skid in an hour or two if you've got a few tools and some skills.

I would have to agree with Miller Tyme one spring on one side has to be a bad idea.

Sorry, Just sold the truck to finance more projects, Building and developing is to much fun to stick with one crawler.

No, stiffer springs won't reduce articulation, you'll still have the same amount of travel, it will just be harder for that side to get there!!

mount ur batteries onto the front axle, use more weight in ur front wheels, install a larger spur gear and smaller pinion.

at the moment i have a custom 6 c cell battery pack on my front axles about 4.5 oz of weights in each wheel. running a 90t spur w/ 12 t pinion

basically the ony time i really see torque twist is when im going in reverse and suddenly gun the throttle on carpet.

not bad if you ask me considering im running the super soft springs and about 10 wt oil on all four corners

My front tire is not coming up. Its the body, its rolling to the left and with the super duper soft springs. It stays there and doesn't roll back..
