| Grey edge on the rocks
Went to Royal Palms, San Pedro this morning, here are a few shots, include better shots of my revised edge. The Flat irons did pretty well even wet, on slippery rock. and the mayhem wheels, what can i say PERFECT!!! Third time out, and first time i return without having to go to the hobby store to fix something:-( What do you guys think? Last edited by nmanuel01; 07-13-2008 at 02:01 PM. looking pretty good, have you had much time on the Flat Irons? P.S. edge chassis are like buttholes, everyone has one....including myself. |

Looks great. I have been thinking of buying an edge chassis. What is the difference you notice between the stock AX10 Chassis and the Edge? And were do you mount your battery? Thanks |

The difference is going to have to be in the suspension set up. the droop set up was different than running springs. I like how it sits closer to the ground. With the tuber i like that i can fall on the top or sideways and everything is protected nicely. I never tried runnying a stock chassis with a droop suspension though. I can get in and out of tighter spots easier that with the regular chassis, have both to be able to compare. it does seems slower than my reg ax10 though lol must be the weight. it also makes you mount your batter on the links or the front plate lowering your cg. less roll overs, try it youll like it and for 79 bucks you cant beat it

I like the old panels!!! But i should have put washers on before screwing them down, they started tweaking the vinyls, im going to wait for tcs to get the panels in again and put them back on

are those big bore shocks on your edge? if so are you running axial shafts? I dont care for the stock shocks and when i tried big bores it made my truck to low and not much articulation. I also run an edge chassis. good lookin rig though

| Yea, hmmm, did you use the bushing that came with the shocks. I used fuel tubbing like abother member mentioned on here and it has plenty of articulation

ya i tried big bores with axial shafts. I used fuel tubing on top no binding but with the shorter body it drops the ride hight when i added fuel tubing to the shaft to bring ride hight back it didnt have much travel left. but hey mabey im missing something.

I doubled up on my panels to protect my vinyls a little better, and it seemed to work out pretty good. They get scratched up fairly quick though, so I think the next time I refresh my panels I'll try doing like WVB suggested and put clear nail polish on the edges and around the bolt holes.

I really like the look of your edge! I also really like the battery location. I think I may copy this location on my new build. Is the battery just attached to the upper links? I realize that this is not the best location for CG but am not concerned that much as I do not compete and am just messing around. I also dont like the look of the battery on the front axle. Yours looks very clean and realistic in a scale type way with the batt hidden inside. thanks |
