Default Dual Steer and Dig for an AX-10 Feedback

Hey I just wanted everyone to check out this bad boy.

I have a version that will actuate a servo to the left or right positions when dig is turned on/off. I figure this could lock or disengage the read end.

I am looking for some suggestions on how you guys using shaftys would like the dig physically actuated...

By the way, there are currently only a handful of these, but we will be selling them full scale very soon.

Here are the youtube videos:

I don't think the in place turning is needed. Use that for something else. Otherwise looks interesting.

Something I would like to see is a computer that would allow a crawler to use front and rear dig/disconnect independently. So you could flick a switch and have 3 position dig front and rear. Does that make any sense??

Yes,
The turning in place is something more fun that I use to show that the Rear ESC (this doesn't even apply to shaftys) can be ran differently than the front.
I actually have the "dig" ESC usually wired to the front. That way I can have my front wheels constantly crawling forward, and I throttle the rear wheels according to not falling backward.
Note there are two versions of this. Two ESC/Motor or Servo Actuated dig.
My main question is if using a servo to actuate dig is usually the way other people do it for a ax-10 truck.
If there is something else more popular, I can have the unit trigger that instead of a servo swinging.

Ohh, Also I can program these to run a winch instead of the dig function.

Tupers,
SO have a three way toggle be:
Left (Front Dig)
Center (Normal)
Right (Rear Dig)
Is that right?

Question Dx3

nice unit

i got a question for you. i have a DX3 with a 3 position switch but the switch always reverts back to center, to use these functions would i have to hold down the switch or could i let go of it and still maintain the selected mode?

You will need a radio where the 3rd channel reverts back to center.
For example, if you are in 4WS and want to get to lockout mode, you just click the button twice. Every time you click it it changes through the modes. One side changes steering modes, the other dig mode.
No holding, you will need to let it go. Just bump it to change.

Certainly looks like it'd take some getting used to, but might be one of those things that becomes second nature after you get the hang of it.

I agree on it taking a little getting used to. It started being more natural a while after using it.
I however, most like the setup on the dual steering (without dig) unit we sell. It seems instantly natural, like flipping on a light switch. The new unit ihas taken a little conscious effort at first.
I am currently also working on a unit that will have Dual Steer and Winch control. The winch side of things will be winch in, winch out and winch off (this is done be sending no signal, not a neutral signal, to the servo). The winch off will also have no drifting problems.
Is there another function guys would like for their trucks? Missile launcher or ejector seats perhaps?

So when the rear wheels lock, they are actually rotating backwards?

They go wherever you want them.
If you brake, and engage, they will stick in brake. If you got backward, and engage, then will go backward etc.
I did this so that the driver and control the position on the fly. Before the position was fixed by a setting (dial) on the unit itself.
Make sence?
Harder to explain than to see in person.

It keeps whatever throttle/brake input you are giving when the unit is engaged. If you are holding the brake, the tires will remain locked while it is activated. If you are giving 10% throttle, the tires will continue to turn at 10% thottle while the unit is activated.
