Now as it sits. Lowered body, star foams, added 2oz to front axle,
6oz in front tires, drilled front wheels, white(soft) front springs. I think I have to much weight in fronts. I have ugly wobble when I gos faster than crawling speed. I think heavier oil in shocks will help or taikin of the weight on axle. More to come with new servo, motor, and aluminum 4 link front and rear.

make sure your wheels are balanced, unbalanced wheels will wobble bad faster than like 2 mph

Depending on how you cut the foams that is most likely part of the problem as well. I wouldn't think it would make much difference with the Lizard tires though, but with the softer ones just letting the thing sit for a day with weight on the tires will make flat spots in the foam and make it wobble. I wouldn't think the weight in the front has anything to do with it though unless like mysharona mentioned they are way out of balance with all the weight on one side inside the tires or something. Plus if you're still running the stick pack up high on the chassis that combined with any kinda tire bounce will most likely make it wobble bad.

I would swap the weight on the front axle out for a split battery pack that goes where they are, and then get some Panther Cougars or Losi Claws and get away from the star cut foam if you can.......Just my .02

My weight is in the bbs in the tires, is there a way to balance those? Plans in the future are for split packs but for now I am going to keep the plate on top. Should I pull out the bbs and put in weight sticks and glu them to the tires? Thanks for the help.

Edit: was fine before I put the bbs in so I am really thinking they are the problem.

yeah you need to get some stick on wheel weights from a tire shop. Put them arround the rim inside the tire and you should be good to go!

^^^^ What he said on the weights!

First off forget about the speed. This is a rock crawler, it's purpose made to go very slow. Don't even think about gluing weights to the tires. You'll only make an already hard tire harder, and not flex friendly. If your wobble is so bad that you have it while building wheel speed in a slow climb then you need to address it. If you are full up on the BBs there shouldn't be a problem. Are you running airsoft BBs, or did I miss that?

Sounds good. Sucks though because I had to count the bbs because I dont have the scale. Took about an hour and half for everything. And now I have to take the beadlocks off...... again. Oh well live and learn.

Thanks.

Regular copper coated Copperheads.

Yes just when I try to build some speed to bump.

What about gluing weights to the wheel like bigflex suggested?

It's a pain, but don't stress it. You've only just begun the terrible journey through putting together, taking apart, changing, unchanging, changing back......It never ends, but it's all part of the test and tune process.

don't worry about the wobble, we won't be going that fast where we need to have tires balanced, leave them in and test the truck, then see if you need to change the weight set up........looking good though

Most people use airsoft BBs instead of the old copper coated type. They work fine for most also. You can purchase stick on weights to go around the center of your wheels that need no gluing. If you search under the tire section there's tons of info on this subject. Several of the vendors on here carry these weights.

(Tell us your joking about counting all the bbs).

Nope, I wanted to make sure they were the same weight. Plus I didnt have anything better to do. LOL

I found some weights at the local hobby store but they arent stick ons. I guess glue will solve that. Thanks for all the info guys.

Nice lookin rig Deezul
