Are you running a spacer on the inside of the shock body to bring them down a little bit?

Spacer in the shocks is a good setup, or you could run the Losi crawler shocks with the longer Jato ball ends or Tanis's end mod.

I am in the middle of building my Warthog and the shocks I mounted up were the Traxxas Big Bores with the AX10 shock rods with the stock rubber spacer on the inside. This was too low. Somewhere around 1 3/4 ground clearance. Then I took the spacer out and the ride height rose a tad over 2 1/8. It seems this would be the lowest I would try. I did order the 120mm HR shocks to see what that does. But it seems the 4" shocks with the AX10 shock rods is a place to start.
