Default CDW Crawler Pics.

This is based on the CDW Prototype Chassis using AX10 axles, and a double triangulated 4 link suspension with Losi shocks.
This was almost entirely a direct swap from a narrowed AX10 I had already built and working very well. New upper links were made but the bottom links remained. Total wheel base went from 12" to 12.25". I am able to adjust the ride height from 2.0" to 4".

Other specs, the truck uses a 3S 1320mah lipo, mamba max esc, losi tires, proline wheels, and a 35t handwound motor. Total weight is 6#, with 3.75# frontal bias.

This is a much more adjustable chassis than my AX10 chassis was, I am able to tweak the upper link position much better now and adjust the truck easier. It works a little better than my previous setup and is able to squeeze through much more narrow areas than the previous narrowed AX10 did.

With the way the body is setup it enables me to not run body posts up front, just in the rear, I can get the truck around and through some tight stuff much easier now.

Thanks, Anthony...this is an awesome chassis.

More pics are available in my gallery.

I love the metal wire to sew the front of the bug to the body. Reminds me of Frankenstein.

From eye to eye on the link it is 122mm. I am using Jato links and 8/32nd all thread sleeved in aluminum.

I can measure the uppers if you like, I roughly eye balled a turnbuckle that would work and adjusted them until I had the pinion angle where I wanted it. So I am unsure how long they are.

Is that your ride height right now??? If so I would lower it to around 3".

No, not really. I have not put limiters in the shock, so when you pick the truck up there is a lot of droop. When you first set it down it looks like it has 5" of ride height. Once settled it's at 2 3/4 - 3" but without limiters in the shocks it over articulates. I am being lazy for the time being and running it as is until I can take the shocks apart and put in some spacers.

I like triangulated links so far the best, but I have not tried straight uppers yet. That will be done soon.

I have since changed the truck a little. I put limiters inside the shock to limit the droop, which has helped some, it had too much articulation before. Also I changed the link setup a bit in the rear to eliminate the torque twist it had.

This chassis is and setup is so good right now I'm always amazed. It has the vert climb it always had, plus some, and the ride height is such that it does not get high centered like it did when I was running it with a low ride height.
