| WK Joe's Scorpion Build
Hello, I'm pretty new here. I used to own a wheely king, so if you are wondering on the name I'm not very creative when it comes to names.:-( -TCS 6-cell split battery pack on axle -M2 Hammers with 3oz./ea front and 1oz/ea rear -Novak XRS Sport ESC -TQ3 radio and reciever -45t motor -14/87 gears -stock shocks limited to 4" -belly clearence 3" -cut skid to mount links inside frame -HiTec 645mg servo I got bored yesterday and started working on a little project. I dont know if anyone has tried it before but I mixed moabs with rock lizard sidewalls for a taller tire. 3 hours of cutting and glueing and this bastard of a tire was born: They are roughly 5.75" tall and 2" wide. Right now they are on the stock moab foams (I'm working on getting new ones) and stock axial beadlocks that I will be narrowing to ~.75" this weekend. Gives me an overall width of 10 1/8" and 12.5 wb Front flex Rear flex How I weighted the wheels Future plans -softer springs -delrin 4-link -delrin skid plate with inboarded links (this weekend's project) -grappler body I used to own this WK (sold to parker8 that I converted to a rock crawler. Thanks for looking, and this is the best website for this hobby, tons of useful info. |

UPDATE: Built a delrin skid and some battery mounts to get the batteries a little higher for steering clearance Rotated the rear driveshaft up so it would hit the rocks Flat fendered the body Rearranged electronics for lower cog Sits on its side no problem |
