i started off with the axle's first! Axial sent me everthing you would need to build a very strong set of comp axels! I received hardened ring and pinions, heavy duty lockers, CVD's, alum C's, alum knuckles, and an alum straight axle's for the rear! but anyways on to some of the build pics. here's a pic of the axle's going together. threw some grease in there to keep those high speed gears cooled i built the rear axle first. i love the design of the alum straight axle piece! there's no screw sticking out! Just a set screw that is threaded into the alum to lock it to the axle! very clean! next was the front axle.. the alum C's attached the same way the back did! makes for better stearing on the front. but i have some ideas for better stearing, but that will come later in the build! i'll have to say that the axial cvd's are the easiest set of cvd's i've ever put together! simply slip the ring over the top fo the cup and everything is locked in place. i'll put them to the test to see how strong they are! |

Your going to love those Axial CVD's. I have been running mine since June on my comp rig and have beat on them hard with no signs of Distress. I have however stretched a few rod ends out and shot a few front driveshafts out from under it!! Congrats on the win!!! And sponsorship.. |

well i got some more done last night. got the tranny all put together, with the slipper clutch that axial sent me! after that i started putting all the parts on the chassis that i made at Daves house on his mini mill/lathe combo! i love that thing! yep you guessed it another torsion chassis! i'm pretty much sticking with the same car i had just switching over to axial stuff instead of tlt! here's some pics of the chassis and with the axles and tranny mounted.. now i gotta start taking the old car apart! pretty much stripping it down to chassis and axles. took my dig setup off, electronics, servo, battery and receiver. now to transplant it into the other car! |

Since I am not sponsored I do not know this, but shouldn't you be running their chassis components as well? LIke an SWX or something?

Cool as hell! When I build another shafty, I'm going to run a BMV2 style chassis as well, it worked well on my old TLT comp rig. |
