Default My new DMG

Alrighty, I got tired of trying to setup my Slingshot, and super tired of painting lexan, so I bought a tuber. DMG's chassis is fantastic, super build quality and it looks pissed. Here are some specs and pics of it. Taking it out on the rocks today, so some action pics to follow.

Cheers,

Rob

Hi, I made it with a piece of aluminum flat stock and my bench vise. I had the upper links directly screwed to the plastic risers on the axle and after a fall that snapped one off I ghetto fabbed that up. Thanks for the compliments though! It ended up going with the chassis well.

Sorry it doesn't meet your high standards. heh-heh. I had hacked up the other two STRC lowers on another build so I had to use those "weak sauce" lowers. I was sorta leaning towards "old school" but you can call like you see it!

I knew you were going to the comp, so I blew that Sh$# off. No, I wanted to, but I had family stuff going on that day. Lance said that besides dealing with you; it was a good comp! When you gonna make it down to pull some lines on my rocks? <<-- that could be taken all out of context if this weren't a RC crawler site. Here are some shots of my rocks to clear things up. Also, speaking of my rocks, I just had a vasectomy tuesday, so between Lance and I, it was a crawler gimp fest.

Cheers, Rob

Gotcha, sorry. I bought the chassis used from my neighbor and fellow rcc user. But if you go to the vendors thread and search for DMG or Death Metal Garage you can find the for sale thread. They have a some cool chassis models besides this one as well. I like this one and the price was right, but it could be considered a bit wide for a comp rig. DMG has some other ones that aren't quite as wide.

Here is a link to the DMG sale thread:

Death Metal Garage

Have a good one!

It was very particular with the link/shock setup. I had a difficult time getting other parts to fit, i.e. MIP drive lines, shocks besides the recommended ones. On mine the DNA dig and chassis didn't fit well together. I had to knotch out the chassis to clear the servo horn for the dig linkage. Also couldn't run a larger spur than 87T or it would hit the chassis. Now that all said, the build quality on it was great and if you ran it exactly as spec'ed, links, shocks, etc, it performed great. I just wanted a different and more flexible setup. I also just wanted a tuber, I hate to paint lexan, and I'm horrible at it. I put all that work into the mechanicals and then I throw that amatuer paint job on it and it just looks like crap all around.

I'm going to list the slingshot chassis in the for sale section this weekend.

They are hot racing wheels. I got them at hobbytown for like $80. They aren't near as pretty as like the Mayhem's and the like, but they have a great off set, hold a bead great, and the bead lock rings are nice and low profile. They did originally come with hex head socket screws that hung up on things, so I just picked up some pan head philips at the local hardware store. They're nice and flush with the rings.

These are exactly them without the hot racing name:
