Just be aware of what you will be going against in Class 1. These rigs are going to have 40 series tires (twice as big as 2.2 almost), have 4 wheel steer, digs. Most supers have a wheelbase between 16 and 19 inches of wheelbase, this and the bigger tires gives them more ground clearance. They normally have track widths of 15 inches or more. An axial will look tiny compared to these behemoths.

Be aware that the .5 of an inch extended wheelbase is going to put you in a VERY different class of truck. If you not going to comps this doesn't really matter. If you are going to comps I'd recommend sticking with 12.5

Much like the 1:1 rigs, it depends on where you wheel.

If all you do is hill climbs, generally speaking, a longer wheelbase is better.

If you have a lot of break overs and ledges, a shorter wheelbase would be better.

Tight sections, and lots of turning is better with a shorter wheelbase as well.

This is all assuming wheel size and belly hight stay the same.

If you plan to compete with your axial you need to drop the WB to 12.5-12.25" and lose rear steer. If you can swing it dig would be highly recomended. You will need a good 3ch radio to work the dig.
