Maybe you should just get like a t-max or the new summitt when it comes out |

Just get a HH Cobalt Puller gear it up,3s pack and you well see what your mamba max can do. Just be ready to upgrade on any thing that can't handle it.

i know somebody has done this id like to see a vid to. the design of the chassis would probably make it hard to control at high speeds i would think

Unless you're building a specific crawler for speed like a rock racer, then don't bother. I got bored earlier this year and decided to plug a Mamba Max/7700 into a mostly stock Axial. I geared it something like 72/30 to see if the Axial could handle some speed. Epic failure. I couldn't get the thing to go straight with anything more than a 1/4 throttle. My friend happened to be filming and you can see haw bad it is. If you want to go fast, buy something that was designed to go fast. Don't waste your time on a crawler. Could it be modified to go fast? Yes. Is it worth it? Not really. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvCLRcRruwo |

I don't have any video of it but the local guys can tell you my rock racer project will git it! I set it up with a 17Tdouble motor geared87-14 and it is pretty fast, and still has plenty of torque to do some crawling. I too would recomend getting a 7t puller and going 3cell lipo. You do that with say 87 spur and 16t pinion and it would be insane. A budy of mine has his puller on 3 cell and 87-12 gearing and it is quick. |

You can't just throw a lot of power into a stock aX-10 and expect wonders. You have to properly set up the suspsention and weight bias, as well as keep it in the dirt because of the locked diffs. They are great when set up around 20mph IMO. Good enough to jump, and fun enough to go anywhere. The traxxas summit will be a good compromise basher/crawlerish rig. |

You might have slightly better results if you put an open diff carrier in the front.....

I have the stock pinion gear and a 21 tooth spur and a 55t novak. What gear ratio do you recommend to get it to go 15 mph and would it still be able to crawl??? Rich |

Here is the rock race we had locally. http://media.putfile.com/Rock-Race I had my regular comp (the green bodied crawler) rig setup with lighter wheels and tires and a 27t motor. It was a blast, but don't expect to rear gear your 55t motor and still plan to be very crawl-able. |

I have an Axial based truck with an X-Trail chassis, the short pede shocks and 2.2 Flat Iron tires. I just got a Sidewinder system and dropped it in, haven't had a chance to run it yet. It should be fun, I'll let you know what happens... T.D. Last edited by TrailDawg362; 10-19-2008 at 04:33 PM. |

We did everything from snap driveshafts, fry motors, snap axle housings, bend aluminum servo horns, and explode gears. Surviving was the name of the game I am actually rebuilding my old Axial comp rigs as a dedicated rock racer. I will be using my VXL system. If nothing else it will be fun to jump and play in the snow with. | |

The electrifly ht-600 work fantastic with a 13-16 tooth pinion and stock spur. I think they may have a slight reverse timing (a little faster in reverse) but its not a huge deal. Really rips with 3s

| Re: AX10 Turbo
I'm building an AX-10 right now with Sand Paddles and am going to use a E-Maxx speed control (14.8 volts) to throw sand at the beach here on Guam. Look on Ebay, E-maxx speed controls can be had cheap. Just solder on different connections for the batteries to use Tamiya style battery plugs...and throw 2 batteries on yer rig for the speed control. The Wheely King I got is good for wheeling....my AX-10 will be an American RC truck. Sick....Japanese tourists will stare at it and KNOW it's an American RC. |
