Default AX-10 Motor Mounted Backwards

Hello to all, I am new to the RC world and just bought a AX-10 Scorpion with several mods done and I have a question. I was at our local track to check out there indoor/outdoor crawling course and talking with some of the employees. They noticed the motor/transfercase was mounted backwards, looks like to me they did it to make more room for the electronics to be mounted lower on the frame. Does this make sence to anybody? The guy I bought it from only had it for a couple of months, he bought it used, so no way to really contact the original owner. Thanks for any input

I run a couple of them myself and my motor is mounted toward the front of the rig to get the weight of the motor forward. Turning them around to make room for electronics doesnt sound like a good idea cause they can be mounted on the upper links. I guess whatever works best for their driving style. They might have also done that to counter the torque twist...?

The battery plate has been removed and they have velcro on the rear axle to mount the battery, I really do not like having the battery on the back. I was looking at the split battery pack for the front axle, any likes or dislikes?

switch the wires on your motor, or adjust your remote
