Default HBZ WartHog "Tuber Chassis" STAGE 3

HBZ WartHog "Tuber Chassis" STAGE 3

Well The more i drive this rig the more little thinks I find, So here are a few update to this rig.

I started to pull in my lower links,,,,, but i quickly ran into a hieght problem.

with my DNA dig and Cobalt 10t hanging out my links get hit.... I laser cut a new thicker skid plate to allow the lower links to move more freely when pulled in, but that would raise my dig unit into a cross brace of my rig. Which would stop the movement of the servo arm. So i left my links on the out side..

HELP ........ now if someone has been able to but in a DNA dig, Cobalt 10t and brought in their lower links, please let me know or even post up a picture.

Thanks in advance

I added berg shock, this helped me get my ground clearance under my skid plate the 3" i was looking for .... the axial shocks could only get me 2 3/4"

I also moved my ESC to my rear axle by using my old servo plate ...

I also moved my RX down onto my front links.....:-P

Well sence i could not bring in my lower links, i thought i would cover the links to help keep them from getting caught on the rocks.

Note: sence these pictures i have added buttom cap screws, and now it is totaly smooth down the side .....

I realy like this truck ...

i used a double triangulated delrin skid from yotachump, custom solid stainless rear links drilled to 8 32,with jato rod ends, and to get my rear height back i used losi 4'' shocks with savage shock ends, still wasnt enough so i mad a small bracket on the 3 rear shock holes with 1/16 ALUMINUM AND ,drilled a hole lower on it to raise it about 1/4 inch higher, now it sits level, crawls exellent ,doesent bind at all

I would suggest changing your lower links. You have the lowers and the uppers both coming "in" on the axle, which is not a good thing. You need to try and move your lower links on the axle, out more towards the wheels to triangulate your suspension. I would suggest moving them to the other side of the shocks.

X's 2! I've built full size rigs and know the how to's of 4-linking. You need more triangulation in the links. You will probably notice more stablility when side hilling and less flopping over. The increased strength of the link angles will greatly control the weight of the WartHog chassis.
Basically, since you moved the lowers outward at the chassis, you need to move them out at the axle as well.

Will that not mess with his steering angle!!! if both links are running outside of the Axle???

this may work may not but u could take the stock skid plate and cut out the mounting holes in the shape they are in and use it as a spacer on top of the skid u have now and that may give u ebough clearance.

for moving the lower links in on the skid, try making a new servo mount behind the dig, then you should be able to lift the trans a bit and move your links in. I've got the same skid and it's the only thing I don't like about it
