IMO, a little to much articulation and too low. But it all depends in your driving style and terrain.

I have now mounted the shocks upside down to keep weight closer to the ground. Sipped the front and rear tires for added traction. Cut stock stiff spring down and put it on the drivers side rear to stiffen the suspension.

what ya guys think?

would love to build or buy rear disconnect.:-P

Welcome!

Nice test site you have there...

I'd put limiters on the shocks for sure; too much articulation can cause more problems than it will solve. Roll overs, jam-ups and the like, and when you get into off camber situations, you'll prefer a tighter rig over a loose one.

what do you mean by this? Something to stop so much down travel or the up travel? is this what I have read about people using fuel tubing on the shocks?

Exactly my friend.

Fuel line is easy and cheap, but you can use other things as well. Axial supplies limiters with the AX10 kits, but you can buy them stand alone as well.

I test with fuel line, then when I have my set up, I use Axial or HPI spacers cut to the appropriate length...provides a bit more rigidity and they last longer.

Just remove the rod end from the shock, put the limiter on the shaft, re-assemble and you're in business.

im not a expert but imo if your suspension is fully extended then your springs can pop off center... limiting will give you a safer range of travel.

Good or bad is a debate that can take on a life of its own...and many, many thread pages

Droop gives you a different drive than sprung...some would argue more stability and a more planted planted rig.

That said, I run droop in my Super and sprung in my 2.2 and 1.9 Losi MRC...all three I think are very stable. Different weight rigs; different drives.

Sometimes droop doesn't work well in a 2.2 unless you have the weight in your rims and tires to actuate it properly.

Too much up travel can sometimes have a negative effect on the performance of your crawler, but if it works for you on the terrain that you hit most often...stick with it. Simple as that.
