Default Battery pack for AX10?

Sorry to ask if this is a frequent question or common knowledge, but what does everyone recommend for a couple starter packs for a stock AX10 with Novak's Rooster/55T Combo?

I'm sure some people will say LiPo... but I'm not sure I want to deal with balancing and such. I'm pretty familiar with NiMH.

Are the 2/3A 1500mah saddle-type packs enough? Or is sub-C better?

What kind of run-time can be expected?

Thanks for the input! -Matt

I ran a 8 cell 2/3A on my stock Axial RTR ESC and motor, with no problems. The specs on the Axial AE-1 ESC says it can handle the 8 cells.
