My driveline finally broke at the yoke, what should I do? Go stock and get some axial aluminum covers to prevent the dl's from popping off or go with MIP. Any other suggestions let me know. What about revo dl's. Thanks peeps.

MIPs are really nice but have large joints. I have a set of MIPs and they work great, the axial rings will get you by cheaper.

MIP all the way! I don't even start a build now without ordering a set of MIP's.

I made a set of stainless steel rings on the lathe , They are thinner than the axial rings and have yet to have any issues, I also got a slipper, Set to the proper point it will save your driveline, there is a fine line between to tight and to loose. In a comp you would run it very tight but if you are just out playing you would run it looser |

Mip's aren't worth the money unless your truck weighs 7 pounds, has a 5t puller, and you drive like a maniac. AKA, you have a rockracer or you are Kamikaze. The rings on the stock shafts work just fine. Besides, I would rather sling a $1-2 shaft than strip a more expensive and hard to replace gear. The stampede shafts are stronger than the stock ones and also work fine. If you absolutely need strength (this is for you guys with pullers) a maxx shaft is the way to go. Cut the ears off or your axial yokes then drill out the maxx yokes until the axials fit inside. I saw this done on a thread somewhere and it went into much more detail. If anyone knows where that thread is please post a link to inform the masses. |
