| Dna dig problem I have a dna dig on my artr chassis. The problem comes with the lower links. My links are inside the skid plate and chassis and I want to keep it this way. It keeps everything from getting hung up on rocks. The links hit the dig unit. I have seen and heard several different solutions to fix this. First put a spacer between the skid plate and the dig unit. (seems crapy) Second run a 4 link on the rear and it would clear. Third buy ckrc stage 2 competition upgrade kit (dont know if this would really fix the problem). I just want to know who is running dna digs and what your set up's are and your suggestions |

Use a spacer with the stock chassis. ( Itried it and it worked fine) or get a new chassis that was built with the DNA dig in mind. Last edited by helhedded; 12-30-2008 at 09:27 AM. Reason: deleted the stage 2 mod |

/\ Stage 2 kit is not a resolution for this. You simply need space under it with a stock chassis. Now is a great time to upgrade to a comp chassis anyway, lol. |

Get a black widow chassis drilled for a DIG. It's cheap and it rocks!

I just had the same issue with mine. I actually made a new skid plate that extended past the motor/trans and held the dig servo keeping the cg low. Drive shaft hit it when it flexed. So to lower the trans back down, I cut the inside mounts for the rear links. They now attach to the frame itself and no issues. The trans is right back down where is is supposed to be. I did have to remove the spacer going from the frame to the top links because the MIP driveshaft hit it. Works great!

i had to notch my DNA to clear the lowers on my CG-2. the aluminum is pretty thick on the lower corner of the DNA and i had no problem grinding an 1/8" or so notch in it.

I too had this problem with my stock skid and the DNA.:-( I ended up with the DNA Slingshot SE. But on the way I found there are solid Delrin skids for about $12, but if you want to try your hand at fabing one up check out www.mcmaster.com Part Number: 8575K115. |

I took a die grinder to the Dig unit and did a little clearance work. I even ground a little on the nut on the link. It is a tight fit but it does fit. |

Go with the slingshot, it is built with the dig in mind. Or try your hand at building one! |
