| Which ESC without killing my wallet ?
O.K. another post today. I would like to replace the stock Axial ESC. I would like to have a Novak Rooster Crawler but, I am having a hard time with the cost. Any thoughts on the Tekin 2 Rebel or the Sidewinder. |

Using a Traxxas TQ radio you could drag brake a super rooster and get used for probbably about $30 dollars.

I have a Sidewinder which is fully programmable and only $75 bucks new. Novak also has good stuff (had one in my touring car), but I have no experience with Tekin so I can't really say anything about them.

Sidewinder for sure, if you can stretch the extra then a FXR is worth it. |

You can get the sidewinder but have to pay another 20.00 for the Castle USB Link, but i think this is a very good setup and would recommend it |

You don't have to, but its really handy, and not only can you program your ESC, but you can also program your Castle Creations BEC unit. A Sidewinder is well worth the money, I love mine, its been super reliable, and is a great ESC.

I'm got a RTR esc in my AX10 with a 55T motor an it works fine, I didnt think when I bought the motor that I can ge the esc with it for only 109$. So I gotta get the 118$ esc, when I could've got them as a set. I think the Novak Rooster Crawler is a good ESC I'm lookin into buying it. |

Just spend the money the first time rather than having to upgrade later.

I agree with harley. I was in the same position.. choosing which speed control, and almost got the rooster crawler,,But most guys here convinced me to just get the sidewinder..and im very please with it,, the customization is a must for crawling not only that it will run brushed or brushless and it can handle 3 cell lipos which the rooster wont..Plus the drag brake on the rooster isnt the best..
