Default Wk Joe's CDW 1.0 Build

I am quite new to the RC world, and decided to build a AX-10. I had built a Wheely King earlier, but sold it to move onto better things. I have spent more time building this thing than driving it, and want to build another one. Started life as an ARTR, on to the specs...

CDW 1.0 Chassis w/homemade skid
Jato shocks w/white spring rate F/R
Losi Claws, memory foam front, trimmed stock foam rear (rounded edges)
Eritex beadlocks, comp heavy front, comp solid rear
Novak Rooster Crawler ESC on 6 cell Nimh
Integy 45t motor, mirrored transmission
3" skid clearance

Stands on its side.

Link geometry

Electronics

Thanks for looking. If anyone notices anything in the pics that could be changed to improve performance, I would appreciate the information. I am always looking for ways to improve.

Sorry about the picture quality, my camera is not the best. I am planning on stretching the wb a little (currently 12.25") and bending the lower links. If anyone knows a easy way to lower the ride height, I would appreciate it.

thanks

Great start, i think youll be real pleased with this chassis. Ive had mine for some time now and it works great.

I bent my delrin links using a heat gun and built a jig with wood and screws so i could bend all four links the same. ive read others have put their links in the oven or even toaster ovens.

i run full droop on mine with a belly clearance of 2 5/8'', 3'' made me tippy. you could try some shorter shocks to get your belly down if you prefer sprung setups. the big thing i liked about this chassis is changing my shock angles didnt really effect my ride height like other frames do so shorter shocks would be the easiest for ride height.

Yotachump changed his to Losi's 4'' shocks in his build thread and had good luck with them from what he said.

you could look at his build for reference or check mine out in my Signature if you want to see a droop build.

Just run some limiting spacers in the shocks. I recently just finished my CDW build as well, and will have some pics up soon. I run the losi crawler shocks with 1/2" of limiters in it. my ride height sits at 3" on the dot fully loaded, and the shocks still have enough travel to drop down a decent amount.

You should definitely try to get your electronics down lower though.
