Get the Novak Crawler Rooster ESC 55T Motor Combo (best bang for your buck) MaxAmps saddle pack batteries Tower Hobbies makes a great charger http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXTSA4&P=ML Any 2 or 3 channel radio with BEC will work for you. It all depends how much you want to spend. I use a cheap AM TX and it works great. Some people want top of the line spektrum TX that can cost up to $300.00 | |

I run a modded TQ3 radio. They are around $60 - $70 and can be had from one of the vendors. The 3rd channel is great because down the road if you want to run a dig you will be all set. Heres the radio i run http://xtreme-rc-hobbies.net/store/p...f940a3d48d83d1 Last edited by mindless; 02-03-2009 at 11:46 AM. |

i'm planning for a tekin as it's small, needs soldiering but that's fine. also, needs to be programmed which sucks but it's small!! half of the novac rooster (glad i've misplaced it). imo, motors are indifferntly similar...make sense? i'm using a traxxas tq3 trans and rx. hitech servo al metal one. forget the part number and i'm using nimh batts. a saddle pack until i can figure a good way to take apart a 6cell 4600, i'm stuck with the 1600 mini 2/3a's. |

i'm just doing the nimh, lipos require more attention that i'm interested in giving. as for a charger, i'd find one that does 8 cells as i'm stuck now with a 7 cell saddle pack cuz my charger doesn't do eight.

Well i run a 2s losi mini-t pack in mine plus a venom pro charger that will charge anything and everything, however the battery and charger set plus a set of deans will set you back a good $200 but a couple of nimh split packs on there plus a charger for nimh will run about half that give or take a few dollars. lipo is better in size, a more consistent power flow, and light weight. Welcome to crawling. It is very addictive. My suggestion regarding the radio would be to sell it and get a nice 3 channel or use the included receiver and look for a DX3R radio TX only auction on Ebay or RCtech and pick the TX up for as cheap as possible. For comps, keep your rig light and keep the COG as low as possible. Battery on front axle if possible. I use the nimh split 7 cell packs 1500mah and can do 2 easier courses on one charge. They can be picked up pretty cheap from any fine vendor on here. Also the 3 channel will be needed for use of dig if you ever desire. Good luck and you will learn a lot on here. ESC - TEKIN or sidewinder/Mamba max if you plan on high voltage, Novak crawler if not looking to run higher voltage Radio-DX3R or similar 3 channel servo - get something exceeded 150 oz. torque. |
