Default MrNate's Slingshot build

Finally dumped the Axial TVPs and replaced it with a Slingshot. This thing is crawling beautifully! Only thing left now is to get the body mounted up and maybe see if I can get that Sidewinder down a little lower. I've got the front shocks with just oil in them and the rear is inner sprung. The front unloads too much for my liking on steep stuff, so I'm thinking I might get some light springs under the pistons.

The Revo GTRs give this a great stance. I'm going to try it out as is next weekend at an indoor crawling course and then see if I want to go with a DIG. Hopefully I'll get my BTA Steering link back before then, though.

Full extension on the rear. I'm thinking the fronts will be full droop once I feel like getting into the oil again.

I have the JetBoat BTA. He's remilling the link, so it's not set up in BTA right now. I ran it yesterday and was able to crawl a rock pile that I've never been able to get over witht he Axial TVP.

Here's a quick video of it. It's not all that great, but I was learning how to use a GoPro helmet cam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDREi7j32Zk

I have the ckrc bta. I have basically remilled, shaved, grinded it to work with cfx chassis to get the maximum travel out of it. I will have pics up on my build thread.

I was wondering what oil you were running in the shocks

What is your ride height set at? I have the fronts and rear internally sprung (extended) w/ Losi Claws and I'm at 2 3/4 at the 2 side bolts on the chassis. I was running almost 3 1/4 ride height with some longer endlinks, but changed those out to some shorter ones and changed the mounting hole location.

I cant take any credit for the shocks though, they are on loan from Scott (Gunnar). He built them up with losi chrome springs, Ti plated rods, 2 extra holes in the pistons and 25 weight oil.

Update, sure! Yeah, I know it's been a loooooong time since I've worked on this. I got into 1/5 scale and kind of lost the crawler interest, but I'm back with a crawler for me and my son.

I've moved around the electronics, changed to a Tekin 45T handwound motor, added a DNA Dig, put on a VW body. Only thing really remaining is that I'm not thrilled with Badlands, so I have ordered some Rovers for it. When I had it out yesterday, it seemed to be dialed in very well, but I just wasn't getting a lot of grip out of the Badlands.

5150bronco:your answer is in the reply to your initial question.

Great rig, I am a big fan of these chassis and you've put yours to good use.

Yeah, I should expand on "not thrilled". The Badlands were better than my worn Cougars, but I think the new Cougars performed a lot better on the majority of rock in this area. However, the Badlands did excel in mossy rock and wet logs...but that's just not real common terrain for me.

that is really good feedback. there is one crawl spot that is very difficult cause of the mossy stuff. and wet. makes very hard to crawl. thanks.
