| Another Ax-10 build...
Well, I finally got bitten. Started off stock...Then the crawler store sent me some sweet new parts. Awesome sevive there, you could set a clock with their shipping times. Stock... Stock... Getting there... Mandatory flex shot... More parts came in... Sweet skid plate, not going to help much with the GC1 chassis... but works for now Blue... I like the blue. I'm either going with the Bender SWX or the GC-1 chassis soon. Either one will be stripped and blue anno'd. I've even got the wife hooked... She's helping me with the new garden. |

Nice start, good move getting the wife involved should make it easier when it comes to spending money on your new addiction. Welcome to the world of going slow

Update... Well, I'm still using the stock chassis/trans/axles... and that's about it. I'm in the middle of building a FLM SPV2 rig for my wife as well. Don't mind the Maglite, it's just for nighttime testing on the pile. I used a stock servo mount and some foam padding to help protect the servo, it was getting pretty beat up. I cut all the links from 1/4in delrin from Mcmaster, which I'm in the process of making them out of 3/8in now. She's starting to get a little better, but I'm really looking to upgrade the chassis and esc. I had a LightSpeed products motor built a few years ago for racing my RC10T4, but decided to put XXX brushes and an Integy 35T armature in. Wheel speed is great and the torque is amazing. I snapped a rear shaft the first time it was bound up. A huge difference from the stock integy can. I wish there were local comps around here, DFW doesn't seem to have much going on with the crawler scene. |
