Default HBZ/Cobalt 7t/dna dig

Does anyone know if this lot will fit together.

I currently have a warthog chassis with a dna dig and I'm hunkering after a 7T puller, but would like to make sure it will fit before I take the plunge.

By the way , I'm running a Sidewinder with a CC bec and 9.6V NiMH saddle packs, any thoughts. Will this motor really make a big diffence compared to the Novak 55t I'm currently using, will it seriously affect run time??

Your run time will drop. I went from about one hour (with a 45T) to about 40 minutes (with a 7T) on 1500 mAh 3S lipo. I am not sure if the motor will fit your chassis, but you should not have a problem with the DNA and motor. The 7T puller measures 2.5" in length and is the same diameter is a 540 motor.

If the DNA dig will fit in the chassis then the 7t Cobalt should fit in it as well. I'm running the same setup electronics wise as you're talking about, and Jeremy is right about run time. Mine went from right at an hour with a 45t down to about 40-45 minutes. As for the difference it makes, honestly it's huge. Everything from better low speed control, to better brake (you can turn your esc drag brake down to like 10%), and then when it comes to wheelspeed if you've been running a 55t you wont know what to do with yourself the first time you squeeze the throttle. I personally wouldn't care if my run time dropped down to 30 minutes, it's worth buying extra battery packs.

Here's a crappy pic that might give you an idea of how the motor sits beside that DNA dig.

I have warthog with R2D and 7t puller. I had to trim a piece of the lower brace to make the puller fit But, It was well worth it I LOVE how the R2 and Puller work together

I would wait til you get it mounted up before you cut anything. He is running an R2D and it's possible that the motor sits back further in his rig than it will yours since the mounting is so much different with the two. Mounting on an R2D is at the back side of the main tranny, where the axial motor plate puts the motor mount at the front side. If he has that tranny mounted in the same location as the stock axial tranny, then that motor would be sitting back about 1/2" or 3/4" further back than yours.

For sure I'll wait till the motor arrives, just been looking at the space Ive got to play with and If it goes to plan then I shouldnt have to carve up any metalwork.

Bolted up the 7T this evening. It's all I was expecting and some.

Simply bags of everything, torque, wheelspeed and quality. (Thanks John)

I was a little bit worried that I might have to hack up the back of the hog, turns out there is quite a bit of clearance.

Looking forward to the weekend so I can give it a proper shakedown.

Great to hear. I didn't think you would have to cut it since the motor plate on the R2D's sits further back than what your Axial one does.
