Dude, if you want full use of dig (4wd, FWD with rear freewheel, and FWD with rear locked) you need a 3 position third channel, which the dx3s does NOT have. You will need a dx3r if you go the spektrum route. If you want a cheap radio to run dig, buy a Traxxas TQ3 and do the mod for a 3 position switch. The mod is typically referred as the rear steering mod. TQ3 can be found for around $25 and the "center off mini toggle switch" will cost you $5 at Radio Shack (pn: 275-664). It is easy to do as long as you have some soldering ability. If you need info on how to do the mod you can PM me. Keep in mind that you WILL need end point adjustments for setting the dig. If you don't you will burn up every servo you use to operate the dig. If you do not add the epa pots you will need to pick up a servo stretcher from Servo City. There is a sticky in the electronics section showing you how to add epa pots. I have not done the epa pot mod, I simply used the servo stretcher. |

If you can find an old school Hitec Lynx 3D like I have it will work great for a dig set up, it has up to 5 positions, I am only using the 3 I need and each position can be adjusted to fine tune your dig positions...you can also get a Spectrum module w/ Rx for $100 on A Main, I got one for mine and have no glitching at all. |

You could always go with a Jr Racing XR3. It already has a 3 pos. switch. I know where you can get one too. |
