Gotta get a good ESC and motor bro...You can do the Rooster/55 combo for that price...or do a Sidewinder and Integy 45T...next would be a stronger servo and BEC...you'll realize very fast that those tires suck...Rovers or Panthers...Then save up and make the 3 channel radio/Dig set-up...sky is the limit..I could babble on for hours...MOTOR AND ESC FIRST

Go to aluminum links and a better steering servo starting out. Then go to a 45t motor with a 14t pinion, and look into getting a better ESC. That would eat that $100 up fairly well I think. Other things to look at would be better tires as well, then after that a better radio. Also something to look at very soon are 2/3a cell split packs for the front axle with the axle plates, but keep in mind those cells require you to charge at 1.5a or less, so a charger may also be in order. Do all of that before looking toward things like shocks, chassis, aluminum knuckles and c's. All of that stuff can come later on, and with knuckles and c's and things like that I would wait til you break them before upgrading.

ya i bought some losi crawler tires... freakin 25 bucks for two, 50 bucks for all 4.

And i locked up the front axle, and switched to a 14t pinion

But i dont understand how, when you mount the two batteries on the sides of the axle, how do u hook the to batteries into one plug?

The 2/3a cell split packs already come wired into one and crossed over to connect each side. If you're wanting to take apart a stick pack to try to build one it gets over my head. Things like that with all the soldering involved I'd just rather pay someone to do. There may be some diagrams and info somewhere on here about making them though.

the battery cells are wired in series, so they have a wire that jumps between the 2 packs, from one pack the + gets used and the - from the other pack, and those come to gether in a single plug.

hope that makes sence

ps dont take apart a stick pack and make a split cell, they cells in a stick pack and SubC and are way bigger then the 2/3A cells, you will have a hell of a time aranging them to not hit any thing

trust me, i just tossed a battery out cuz of this haha

and a better steering servo give you more torque , so it will be able to turn you tires more easily rather then them just being stuck in a rut or somthing. the HS 645 is good for the price

http://www.tcscrawlers.com/Batteries-p-1-c-123.html

The stock servo has plastic gears that will quickly strip out if you're in the rocks alot. Upgrading to a better metal or titanium gear servo with more torque is well worth the money.

go to custom packs 6,7,8 cell which ever you prefer then choose the configuration for the ax10.

Default Try this

Get softer springs for the front shocks. Next buy a stronger servo with meatal gears. You will have enough left over for metal links. This will make your rig look good and perform better.

If you decide to do the link conversion you will need to get the rod end conversion as well, they sale a kit that comes with all of the rod ends and threaded 3MM rods the connect the links and rod ends together...you could also upgrade your chassis...
