Question traxxas shocks in the axial

i'm really trying to save for real shocks but until then, wondering if anyones use the traxxas shocks, the maxx shocks are the same as the rears on any rusty and pede so i'm using the rears from the traxxas rigs i couldn't sell and putting them on my crawler.

has anyone used the traxxas on their crawler and if so, what did you change; shocks (internal/external, droop sprung)?

I don't think droop/internal would work as the traxxas shocks have that dampener in the cap...but let me know please

Thanks.

yeah, losi is what i'm saving for.

i think i figured it out. i took the diaphram out, grabbed a set of tcs internals and i think i got it working, but maybe there's a better trick to out here.

I am running stock front slash shocks l the way around and they work great!! 65 wt in rears and 50 in front with stock white losi springs on rear and stock reds that came with shocks on front.

traxxas big bore maxx shocks are far better than the losi cralwer shocks, in my opinnion, for my setup.

i would buy the traxxas shocks again for another truck, but not the losi crawlers..

I run maxx shocks on my axial. Limited about 1/2 inch internally... soft springs and heavy oil. I love them!!

ah, so they're the same as the pede shock, but stronger...just makin' sure. i'm not dropping any coin right now so If I can get by with the pede shocks, all the better. Thanks all for the help.

grat shock and free is the right price. If you use them tho I would do the link cap mod. WOW what a difference that makes. Im just gonna go from the plastics to the aluminum ones and Im happy.

why would i drill a hole in the cap? new to me...it it's nothing to do with the insides of the shock, then it's not that big of a deal. thnx gunnar!

Pic.

this pic shows a plastic cap, which I did first just to make sure it worked. It works great and I now use the aluminum caps.

oh, so you don't have to use the traxxas upper mounting screw or fuel line in the traxxas hole before mounting it. this way, you get a ball joint. i might try that, put some slime in the cap too so I can seal any holes. having oil drips on the course is pretty lame. Thank all!!!!
