Yup, your shock oil will play a big part in how well the shocks react when you go to that droop setup. You'll have to test and tune a little and run a fairly thick oil in them.

sorry i missed your question, when you fill you shocks i leave the oil down about 1/8" from the top of the shock.

your running the spring under the piston? thats whats stoping it fron drooping out, not the oil, the oil controlls how fast the wheel can move in / out the spring controlls how much force it takes to do so, remember that the spring inside the shock limets the overal travel of it, by about 1/4" from stock set up.

the way i am set up is as follows.

rear : 2 pen springs inside the shock under the piston to keep the shock compressed at all times unless flexing, useing 70wt oil with 2 oz in the wheels

front: one pen spring inside and one pen spring out side with 70wt oil, i have about 5.5 oz in each front wheel and this allows the shock to drop out to full extention but keeps it sucked down when side hilling.

every one is going to have different preferances on what works and what doesnt

ya medium is probably to stiff to let the shock drop out freely, so go to a softer spring run more weight in your wheels, the springs i am useing literally came out of a clicky pens, i got 12 pens for 1.50 at the doller store, and IMO it works just as good as buying a droop kit from a retailer

I'm running the TCS medium internal springs in my droop setup, they are a little stiff, but i run heavy rims and axles so it compensates well. I also run 70 weight oil in the front and 35 weight oil in the rear, seems to work out real well for me

Do you have any pics of your droop set up? I think I have the general idea. I would just like to make sure what I am seeing in my head is the way you have your set up layed out on your crawler.
